Despite increasing attention to sustainable tourism, limited research has examined how household saving influences sustainable tourism consumption, particularly in ecologically sensitive areas. This study focuses on the Muria volcanic region, where tourism development intersects with environmental vulnerability. A conceptual model integrating household saving, generational mindset, technology adoption, and environmental conservation is tested using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Results show that household saving does not have a direct effect on sustainable tourism consumption. However, it indirectly affects tourism behavior through generational mindset, environmental conservation, technology adoption, which positively enhances sustainable tourism participation. These findings reveal the mediating role of socio-psychological and technology in driven volcanic tourism decisions. The study offers practical implications for tourism planners and financial institutions to promote digital access, financial literacy, and environmental awareness. It contributes to sustainable tourism strategies that align with the SDGs, including sustainable communities. © 2025, Malaysian Consumer and Family Economics Association. All rights reserved.
