Backgrounds: Despite curcumin's proven pharmacological efficacy, its hydrophobic nature and poor stability hinder its widespread use in pharmaceutical and biological applications. Nanofibrous composed of water-soluble hydrophilic biopolymers are used to develop FDDDSs in order to surmount these challenges. These systems are specifically engineered to rapidly disintegrate in the oral cavity and facilitate drugs release. The objective of this study was to produce fast-dissolving nanofibrous of curcumin-loaded in JFP/Pullulan using electrospinning technique. Methods: The emulsion was created using shell:core ratios of 100:0, 95:5, and 90:10 though homogenization approaches, including homogenization, ultrasonication, and homogenization-ultrasound. Their characteristics, antioxidant activity, and biomedical applications were investigated. Significant findings: The emulsion generated by ultrasonication was the most stable emulsion with uniform droplet size of 365.8 nm and PDI 0.174. The characteristics of nanofibrous mats were thoroughly examined, and SEM studies verified average diameter of 104.2 ± 3.2 nm. The results revealed that formulation 95:5 could be feasible for obtaining nanofibrous mats with EE% 83.98 ± 0.04 %. The antioxidative effect exhibited by the curcumin-loaded mats was more pronounced in comparison to the drug-free mats. The in vitro release test demonstrates that nanofibrous mat may enhance the drug's hydrophobicity and degrade fast in the artificial saliva environment. © 2024 Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers
