Abstract

Mathematical understanding is one of the five essential skills in learning mathematics. It is essential to develop this mathematical understanding ability to solve problems in real life by applying the mathematics they understand. This study aimed to find out how the mathematical understanding ability of Tuton students in the Statistics Method class at the Open University was determined. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The instruments used to collect data are in the form of tests of mathematical understanding abilities and documentation. The test results were analyzed based on indicators of mathematical understanding. The results of this study indicate that the students' mathematical understanding ability is high. © 2024 Author(s).
