Abstract

Porosity is the fundamental property of solid fuel materials, considering that it will affect the diffusion of substances and heat and mass transfer during the thermal conversion process. This work examined the porosity of bio briquettes manufactured from a carbonized rice husk-water hyacinth mixture in a mass ratio of 50:50. Manufacturing was carried out under a hydraulic pressing machine with different pressures of 25 and 50 MPa. The results indicated that the sample of 25 MPa has a porosity of 70.02%, which is more porous than the sample of 50 MPa, which has a porosity of 53.93%. © 2024 American Institute of Physics Inc..
