Abstract

This research was a qualitative with literature study design. Researchers examined the existing literature and associated it with field facts to uncover: (1) what is math literacy? (2) what are the forms of Manggarai community cultural activities that contain mathematical literacy, and (3) This cultural element covers what fields in mathematics? The importance of this study was to uncovered the pattern of application of mathematics in the cultured life of a group of people, while adding to the characteristics of the learning resources of mathematics itself. Because culture is the eternal badge of human communal civilization. Behavioral models in culture indicate the quality of human resources of those cultural adherents. Meanwhile, mathematics has become a role model that shows how human thought reaches its highest level. In the socio-cultural life of the people of Manggarai, NTT, there are provisions that are mathematical meaning requirements. Among them are the concept of Lodok, traditional woven motifs, Wase Lima, Kaba Sua Jarang Pitu, traditional measurements for crops such as lide, tongka, roto ci'e, warang, and beka. © 2023 Author(s).
