This study aims to (1) identify and analyze the diversity of soil macrofauna in the Kawasan Wisata Pendidikan UNNES (KWPU), (2) calculate and analyze the diversity and similarity of soil macrofauna species between zones in KWPU (3) Analyze the relationship between soil macrofauna diversity and environmental quality. Sampling of macrofauna uses pitfall traps (PFT) which are placed randomly at five points based on KWPU zoning. At each point, 5 traps (PFT) were installed with a distance of 1 meter each. The replication was carried out three times, every two weeks (June-July 2020) taking into account the season: the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the dry season. Soil macrofauna trapped in the PFT were identified and calculated the Shanon-Wiener Species Diversity Index, Evenness Index, and Dominance Index. Species composition between zones, analyzed by Sorenson Index. Conservation efforts were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study found 123 macrofauna species with the Shanon-Wiener Species Diversity Index of 2.83 including the criteria for moderate diversity. The Evenness Index is 0.59 and the Dominance Index is 0.14 which means that it is fairly even and there is no dominant species. The species composition between zones was mostly the same (IS>50%) except between zones 1-6, zones 2-6, 2-5, the species composition was different. This difference in macrofauna diversity is caused by different soil qualities. Based on these results, efforts that can increase species diversity are to reduce perennials and increase fruit plants whose litter is easily decomposed by soil macrofauna, so that soil quality is better. © 2023 Author(s).
