How difficult it is for prospective teachers to design inductive mathematics learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the difficulties of students as prospective Mathematics teachers in designing inductive learning. This study uses a qualitative approach. The type of this research is a case study. The research subject was 1 student of the Tadris Mathematics Study Program, Salatiga State Islamic Institute as a prospective mathematics teacher. Data were collected through observation, document analysis, and interviews. Validation of the validity of the data is done through technical triangulation. The results showed that 1) students had difficulty in understanding the inductive learning paradigm; 2) students have difficulty in describing the inductive approach to learning mathematics. © 2023 Author(s).
