Abstract

Practice in vocational education has a crucial role in mastering students' skills. Learning media measuring instrument is needed as an introduction to practical activities in the workshop. The purpose of this research is to develop learning media for measuring instrument based on android applications. This research uses the waterfall development model by Roger S. Pressman consisting of steps of communication, planning, modeling, construction, and deployment. The test subjects consisted of lecturers, students, and media experts. Usability and functionality using the ISO 9126 standard to determine software quality. The results obtained that the application could run well on the Android platform, at least Jelly Bean Android System. The learning media of android-based measuring instrument has a usability value of 86% (good) and a functionality aspect of 1, which states that the application is functioning properly. Based on the research, the implications both theoretically and practically can be found. Application development uses the waterfall development model, which is easier and more efficient in the process. This application supports the preparation of motorcycle practice learning in prospective teachers for automotive vocational education. © 2023 Author(s).
