The objective of this research is to create a socio-humanistic learning model for mathematics to improve mathematical reasoning skills, which is obviously valid, practical, and effective. The development model, in this regard, deals with Borg & Gall's ten stages. The research subjects were the fourth graders of a Salatiga-based Primary School in Central Java, Indonesia. The data were collected through interviews, observations, tests, and questionnaires. The development of a mathematics learning model seeks to improve students' reasoning skills. The research instruments consist of (1) an instrument for evaluating the validity of the learning model, (2) an instrument for evaluating the practicality of the model, and (3) an instrument for the effectiveness of the learning model. The results indicate that the socio-humanistic learning model promoting the students' reasoning skills in learning mathematics is valid and practical. The components of a model have been assessed involving syntax/steps of learning, social systems, reaction principles, support systems, instructional and supporting effects as well as supporting learning devices. © 2023 Author(s).
