The paradigm shift from technology-centered efficacy to human-centric, ethical, and sustainable systems, which are enabled by AI, is represented by the transition to Industry 5.0 and Society 5.0. Guidance and counseling services are being increasingly impacted by digitalization and intelligent technologies in this context; however, a cohesive conceptual framework that is consistent with the values of Society 5.0 is still lacking. The objective of this investigation is to develop a comprehensive framework for Guidance and Counseling 5.0 that is based on the principles of Industry 5.0 and Society 5.0, as determined by a systematic literature review. Twenty empirical studies that were peer-reviewed and published between 2020 and 2025 were systematically selected and analyzed thematically in accordance with the PRISMA-P guidelines. The proposed Guidance and Counseling 5.0 framework is defined by five interrelated dimensions: (1) human–technology integration, (2) ethical AI governance, (3) counselor competency development for hybrid practice, (4) human–AI collaboration, and (5) multicultural flexibility. The synthesis demonstrates strong theoretical saturation and convergence in these areas. Across diverse settings, AI and digital technologies are consistently positioned as augmentative tools that enhance accessibility, personalization, and efficiency while preserving the counselor’s central role as an ethical and relational agent. The emergence of ethical governance as a fundamental pillar that extends beyond data security to encompass transparency, accountability, algorithmic explainability, and economic considerations in accordance with the principles of Society 5.0. This research provides a human-centered and ethically grounded framework for Guidance and Counseling 5.0 that is consistent with the broader transformation that is envisioned in Industry 5.0 and Society 5.0. This framework aligns psychosocial services with the broader transformation. The results also emphasize critical research voids concerning long-term effectiveness, accountability structures, cultural fairness, and workforce implications, thereby establishing a strategic agenda for future research and practice in AI-enabled counseling systems. © 2026, Malque Publishing.
