Abstract

As a form of consequence in the profession, teachers must carry out continuing professional development (CPD). However, many teachers have not been able to carry out CPD, either in the form of self-development activities, scientific publications, or innovative works. Based on the preliminary survey that has been carried out, the results of the study, as well as in-depth discussions with the Teacher Working Group (MGMP) of Semarang Regency, the efforts made to revive the teachers' enthusiasm to conduct research are not enough by only conducting training or seminars. A more comprehensive effort is needed to inspire teachers to conduct research by creating a research community that is capable of initiating an ecosystem of empowered teachers. The research ecosystem is realized in the form of the Teacher-Research Community, a research community as a form of sustainable teacher empowerment. The steps for the activities are as follows: 1) conducting a Needs Analysis to determine the needs of teachers in Semarang Regency. This activity is carried out before the implementation of community service by coordinating with the Head of the Indonesian Language Teacher Working Group (MGMP) of Semarang Regency; 2) coordinating with the Head of the Indonesian Language and Literature Department to plan this community service activity in the area of Indonesian Language Teacher Working Group (MGMP) of Semarang Regency; 3) conducting a treatment for training participants who are Indonesian language teachers in Semarang Regency; and 4) conducting an evaluation. © 2023 Author(s).
