This study aimed to analyze: 1) The causes of the Embun Upas Phenomenon in the Dieng plateau. 2) The impact of the Embun Upas Phenomenon. 3) Mitigation to reduce the impact of the Embun Upas Phenomenon. This research method is a literature review and survey method. Literature review to analyze theoretically and previous research related to the research topic. Survey method to determine the impact and mitigation carried out by farmers. This research shows that the Frost Injury Phenomenon in the Dieng Plateau occurs during the dry season around July to August due to the low air temperature, which is below the freezing point. Plants affected by "embun upas"will have frost injury, where the plant will wither and die. Frost injury is caused by ice core-forming bacteria that is Ice nucleation active (INA) bacteria. The commodity that is most susceptible to INA bacteria is potato. Losses caused by Embun Upas Phenomenon in the range of millions of rupiah per hectare. Farmers can anticipate or reduce the impact of the Embun Upas Phenomenon with several activities to not have a severe impact on agricultural production. Activities of farmers include changing agricultural commodities, modifying plants, using mulch, determining planting calendars, and using technology such as wind machines. © 2023 Author(s).
