The decreased COVID-19 spread rate makes the educational facilities rerun their activities. In the new normal era, the learning activities apply the health protocol. The applied Self-Directed Learning (SDL) on the Blended-Learning model (BL) is an excellent teaching-learning alternative. In this situation, it has become more crucial for students to take more charge of their own education. This research determined the process of applying SDL-BL at campuses and the student’s responses to the applied model during the new normal era. The research participants consisted of 90 physics-education students. The researchers interviewed the participants using a Likert scale and an informal interview. The questionnaire consisted of 10 aspects about BL and SDL. The researchers also used a questionnaire with 34 questions to obtain the respondents’ responses about some SDL-BL aspects. The research validation of the experts was useful to revise the questionnaire. The researchers measured the instrument’s reliability by promoting a trial test for 20 students. The promoted data analyses were frequency and percentage analyses as the parts of descriptive statistic parts with SPSS version 28.0. The results showed that the lowest student response about the SDL-BL process was 3.01, concerning the learning source aspect. The highest score was 3.98 for the learning community aspect. The researchers interviewed the respondents informally to broaden their insight into the related students’ responses to SDL-BL. The SDL-BL learning made the students aware of their learning. This paper offers insights into how Blended Learning learning model which is a combination of Face to Face and Asynchronous Learning combined with SDL. Copyright (c) 2026 The Authors.
