This study explores parents’ views on character education at home and school through semi-structured interviews with twenty parents of early childhood children in Central Java, Indonesia. Thematic analysis of the interview data revealed four key themes: project mechanisms, the impact of the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila on family parenting, its effect on early childhood character development, and parents’ perspectives on character education. The findings highlight the positive role of parental involvement in early childhood character development and provide valuable insights for educators, practitioners, and policymakers seeking to engage parents in character education. © 2026 Journal of Moral Education Ltd.
