The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of peers, religiosity and school engagement directly and indirectly on academic resilience, with locus of control as moderator. The study was conducted on new students who had an educational background from social studies at state universities in Semarang. The sampling technique used in this study was voluntary sampling, and obtained a sample of 187 students. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. The data analysis method used descriptive analysis and moderated regression analysis. The results showed that school engagement, religiosity and peers had an effect on academic resilience. Meanwhile, locus of control can moderate school engagement on academic resilience and cannot moderate religiosity and peers on academic resilience. Copyright © 2022 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
