Abstract

This study examines the influence of a sustainable entrepreneurial culture on students’ abilities, aspirations, and intention to establish sustainable businesses within a green university context in Indonesia. Survey data were collected from 445 students and analyzed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling. The findings showed that a sustainable entrepreneurial culture significantly enhanced students’ abilities and aspirations, thereby mediating their intention to engage in sustainable businesses. However, no direct effect of culture on business intention was found. The study highlights the need to integrate sustainability into curricula, promote experiential learning, and strengthen governance to foster sustainability-oriented entrepreneurs. While the findings offer practical insights for policy and curriculum design, their generalizability is limited due to the single-institution sample. © The Author(s) 2025.
