Modern learning system that incorporating information technology provides wide education access for society. This system can be accessed by various levels of society from medium to medium. At tertiary education (university level), online learning has been integrated to enrich and complete the learning process. On line lectures have been also applied in engineering education. In its application, online lectures also must include online assessment (E-assessment) to measure student learning outcome in online from. E-assessment can be done in various methods such as: online discussion, written assignments, fieldwork report, presentations, and quizzes and exams. However, some questions have been raised related to the reliability of e-assessment such as dishonesty, transparency and validity. Therefore, this chapter will depict some challenges in assessing student performance on engineering online courses and provide some insight how to improve reliability of online assessment. © 2021 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
