This study aims to find out the role of the dynamic business environment and the support of the local government in bridging the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on the performance of SME entrepreneurs, especially wood-based entrepreneurs in tourist destinations (DTW). The sample in this study was a respondent group of 200. Determination of the sample was carried out through un-stratified random proportional sampling for each group of companies. The research objectives were analyzed using Smart PLS-30. The results show that the business environment perfectly mediates the effect of entrepreneurial orientation on business performance at an alpha level of 5%. While the support of the local government has a positive and significant mediating effect of entrepreneurial orientation on business performance at an error rate of 10%, direct entrepreneurial orientation has no significant effect on business performance. © 2020 Primrose Hall Publishing Group.
