The effort to reduce the amount of waste electrical usage can be conducted through the building automation that enables controlling and monitoring system of electricity usage. In this research, a control system using fuzzy techniques as automatic control for energy management in smart building and use sensors to recognize the presence and activity of the occupants as well as the environmental illumination conditions. The results of this study showed an efficiency of 25% as a result of controlling the electrical equipment automatically. Given this efficiency will result in savings in the payment of bills by the occupants. It also impact on government with their savings in subsidies issued for the supply of fuel in power generation and also had an impact on the environment that can reduce CO2 emissions. © 2018 IEEE.
