Abstract

This study aims to assess Kawasan Wisata Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup (KWPLH) Balikpapan as a learning resource of conservation. The research method is institutional survey and field observation. Based on field observations, such as the man­agement of bear’s enclosure in their natural habitat, and its activity can be observed by the community as a learning resource of conservation. Analysis of guest book documents (2012) indicated that KWPLH Balikpapan visited by 50,000-70,000 people. Opinions from visitors briefly can be concluded that KWPLH Balikpapan is a comfortable place to learn and have a good po­tential to acquire knowledge, and the effort to conserve sun bears and their habitat. © 2014 Prodi Pendidikan IPA FMIPA UNNES Semarang.
