Abstract

Mathematics' creative thinking ability is one of the main abilities in the 21st century and needs to be developed continuously. One of the learning models that can be used to develop these abilities is the project based learning model. This research aims to analyze creative mathematical thinking abilities in the project-based learning model using a design thinking approach. The indicators used in this research are fluency, originality, flexibility, and elaboration. The research method was a qualitative descriptive approach with subjects 13 students of 10th grade at SMAIQu Al-Bahjah. The research results show that overall students are in the category of high creative thinking ability. A total of 46.16% of students were in the very high creative thinking ability category, 38.46% were in the high category, 7.69% of students were in the low category, and 7.69% of students were in the very low category. Students who have high creative thinking abilities are able to fulfill the four indicators above. Fluency and originality are the only two measures of creative thinking skills that students with low creative thinking skills meet. Students who have very low creative thinking abilities are only able to meet the flexibility indicators. © 2025 Author(s).
