Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of using MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses)-based virtual laboratories on the physics measuring instrument laboratory specifically designed to assess the collaboration skills of prospective physics teachers. The research method employed in this study combines a quantitative Quasi-Experimental approach with a qualitative component. The selected research design is the Post-test Only Control Group Design. In this design, both the experimental and control groups were not randomly selected. Sample collection was performed using non-random sampling techniques, specifically purposive sampling, which included all fifth-semester students from the academic year 2022/2023 enrolled in the Physics Measurement Methods course at UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Class B was designated as the experimental group, and class A served as the control group. The research instrument used was a collaboration skills questionnaire consisting of 8 indicators. Data analysis was carried out using an independent t-test. The results reveal a significant difference in collaboration skills among prospective physics teachers between the class that conducted the laboratory using MOOCs-based virtual laboratories and the class that used real laboratories. The data was obtained from the collaboration skills questionnaire, with an average score of 80.17, categorized as "Very Good,"for the experimental group, and an average score of 76.03, categorized as "Good,"for the control group. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the collaboration skills of prospective physics teachers between the experimental class using MOOCs-based virtual laboratories and the control class conducting experiments in a real laboratory. © 2026 Author(s).
